Diggin’ into Kuniyuki & Joe Claussell

Added & filed under Archive.

Earlier this year we were lucky enough to be asked to curate one of the stages at the Freedom Time festival. We decided to bring back one of dear friends, the Japanese master producer Kuniyuki Takahashi + his occasional collaborator and one of our greatest inspirators, the man behind Sacred Rhythm and Spiritual Life Music, Joe Claussell! Were going to share just a few of our favourite bits from the legendary Brooklyn DJ and the nicest guy from Sapporo. Make sure to check them on the Butter Sessions stage this Saturday at Freedom Time in Melbourne and at Maximum Joy in Sydney on Sunday!

Tickets for Maximum Joy

One of the first Kuniyuki tracks we heard. Both sides of the record are amazing!

What can you say about this???? An original and organic masterpiece! Also check the Fingers aka Larry Heard remixes!

Crazy 20+minute cosmic sound explorer!

This one rarely leaves the bag. Kuni in full bomb mode !

The two masters join forces for a beautiful piece with Josee Hurlock on vocals.

A recent release uncovering Kuni’s early works via Music From Memory. Shows just how diverse his productions are!

Ohhhh yes….Joe is full percussive effect remixing his own Instant House group….absolute killer!

A classic from Joe’s Spiritual Life Music label.

Mad house groove from 99′ on Jerome Sydenham’s Ibadan music where Joe frequents

Seriously amazing remix. Seamlessly jumping from liquid DnB into spiritual house like nothing!
